A study made by the Centro de Información y Comunicación (CICOM) revealed that commercial aviation grew by 14% during 1995. According to the report on the Travel Industry of the Dominican Republic 1995, 4.18 million people were transported from the airports in the country, an increase of 433 thousand when compared to the same period in 1994. The report also says that the increase in arrivals and departures was 19.6% for Dominicans and 8.6% for foreigners. The study was made using statistics provided by the Dirección de Aeronautica Civil and the estimates made by the Central Bank.
