The Dominican Republic could earn US$600 million exporting shrimps. Máximo Contreras, president of the Asociación Dominicana de Acuacultura, said that the country would only have to invest between RD$2,400 and RD$8,325 million. Although he gave no details on how to use the monies, he said that if the investment was made it would create 50 thousand new jobs.
