IMF’s Michel Camdessus applauds D.R.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) general director, Michel Camdessus, showed his satisfaction with the Dominican Republic’s economic development and congratulated President Leonel Fernández for achieving a non-traumatic economic transition. Mr. Camdesuss met in private with a Dominican delegation that attended the IMF assembly in Washington D.C. He also applauded the country’s impressive development and the new government commitment to maintain the reform process. Among the people that attended the private meeting with Mr. Camdessuss were the governor of the Central Bank, Héctor Valdez Albizu, Finance Minister Daniel Toribio, and executive IMF director, Alexander Kafka.
