President-elect Hipólito Mejía announced his choice for governor of La Vega is deputy Fausto Lopez Solis; for Santiago Rodríguez governor, deputy Julio Nolasco and for Monte Cristi governor, Lorenzo Rodriguez. He said his choice for Administrative Secretary of the Presidency is Pedro Franco Badía. Franco Badía, a PRD long-timer, is remembered as one of the worst mayors the city of Santo Domingo has ever had. Mejía announced that his choice for the Ministry of Interior Police is deputy, Rafael Suberví Bonilla. Suberví is a former Minister of Tourism and Mayor of Santo Domingo.
