Son of narcotics department director found dead

The body of Second Lieutenant Oscar Lachapelle de los Santos was found at 8 am in a car in a park near the headquarters of the Military Aides Corps of the President of the Republic on Cesar Nicolas Penson Avenue. The body was said to be found in state of decomposition. There were no signs of violence on the body. An autopsy was conducted at the National Institute of Forensic Pathology to determine the cause of death, but at the close of this edition no results had been provided to the press. The 33-year-old son of Major General Manuel Antonio Lachapelle Suero, the director of the National Drug Control Department (DNCD), had been missing since Friday morning. At around 9 am he had walked to the nearby Centro Medico UCE to visit his girlfriend who was a patient there. Nobody saw him after he left the hospital. Lachapelle was a diabetic and needed insulin injections twice a day. He worked as an assistant to his father at the DNCD.
