The 20-year-old son of murdered Santiago businessman Chichi Santos and two accomplices have confessed that their motive in the killing was financial. A fourth suspect is still at large. The TV station owner had bequeathed RD$4 million to his son, Alix, which led the young heir to offer his cousin and two friends a share of the legacy in return for their complicity in the scheme. Santos senior was the owner of Santiago stations CNC Channel 20 and Laguna TV channel 28 and was killed outside his home on Monday. Despite the confessions, family members have called on the police to dig deeper into the case, believing the current suspects to be the executors but not the planners of the crime, who they claim could have had more sinister motives.
