National Emergency Commission: Good job

All of today?s newspapers are playing up the fact that the death toll over the long holiday weekend was 51% less than last year, and that none of the over 500 injuries reported were even very serious. Again, automobile accidents accounted for most of the deaths, but apparently the campaign ?Si bebes, me apeo? (If you drink, I get out) had positive results. Rear Admiral Radhames Lora, the head of both the Commission and the Civil Defense, told the press that he was very pleased with the results of the work of all the volunteers and the different governmental agencies that collaborated. According to Lora, over 100,000 people collaborated in the Easter Week Accident Prevention program. They are to be congratulated.
