Rumors were circulating on Friday that prominent PRSC politician Jacinto Peynado had died. Peynado put an end to the speculation, however, by appearing on Freddy Beras Goico’s television show on Friday night, speaking on the phone from Miami, where he is recovering from surgery. He denied that he was suffering from cancer, and attributed his recent weight loss to a change of metabolism following his last operation. He expects to return to the country this week.
