Hoy newspaper reports that 9,500 pensioners eligible for a RD$300 monthly stipend from the Public Health Ministry have not received the corresponding payments for the months of January or February, as was confirmed by the ministry’s Dioselina Almanzar. The government pays out RD$2.7 million to this program to assist senior citizens.
The government is also trailing in its payments of school breakfast programs that benefit children attending public schools.
