For the past several editions, the political cartoon of Diario Libre has featured the high price of chickens. Saturday?s cartoon had a scene from a supermarket. There was a table full of chickens, ready to be cooked. One chicken said to another, ?We are so lonely, nobody comes by here anymore.? Another said: ?Look here comes somebody!? A third answered: ?That?s just Boquechivo, he comes here to stare and then he just sighs and goes away.? On Monday, Diogenes comes rushing into Boquechivo?s house, the table is set and there is a chicken on the table. Boquechivo is on his back passed out. Diogenes asks: ?What happened?? Boquechivo?s wife answers: ?Nothing?I just told him we were having chicken.? Well, today?s cartoon has Diogenes and Boquechivo by a hobo-type fire, saying their prayers before eating a chicken that is on the spit. ?Dear God, we give you thanks for giving us the strength and perseverance to get this chicken?.a sacred animal?.that for many months has been denied to us. But thanks to Thee, today Boquechivo and I can enjoy such precious meat, since up to now it has been the privilege of the chosen few. Thank You, Lord, Amen.?
