Make sure you have your “revista”

Those transiting in Santo Domingo should make sure they have their “revista”, the sticker that authorizes vehicles to transit on Dominican roads. The sticker originally was issued after inspectors verified the car was physically fit to transit, but with the years it has become merely another tax. El Caribe newspaper publishes that AMET officers distributed 1,098 summons and 1,047 on Monday and Tuesday, the first two days when the order went out for traffic officers to fine vehicles that had not updated their sticker. The sticker costs RD$45, and the fines range from RD$50 to RD$100. The sticker can be obtained in Santo Domingo a the Ole Supermarkets of Duarte, Villa Mella and San Isidro. Also at the Multicentro La Sirena in Churchill and Charles de Gaulle, the principal office of the DGTT, the Teo Cruz coliseum and the mail office in Los Mameyes.
