Census scheduled for last week in November

Economy, Planning and Development Minister Temistocles Montas has announced that the Ninth National Population and Housing Census will be held in the last week of November. The results are due in the first quarter of 2011. Montas said the survey would cost US$15 million. He said that 62,000 pollsters, 50% of whom will be government employees, would be visiting 2.7 million homes. According to the minister, using government employees is expected to cut the cost of the poll by at least 40%.
