Chinese-French award-winning production 11 Flowers is one of the films being screened at the Novocentro International Film Festival. The film is regarded as one of the finest films produced by Wang Xiaoshuai. It is described as an absorbing coming-of-age drama set during the waning stage of China’s Cultural Revolution. In the film, he dramatizes a curious chapter from his own rural upbringing that supplies a personal perspective on a restless and confusing period.
The film festival is on from 27 September to 7 October at the Novocentro Mall Fine Arts Cinema Cafe on Lope de Vega Avenue in Santo Domingo.
Tickets are RD$250 and RD$175 at the 5pm showing. Full details may be found at www.festivaldecinefinearts.com
