The Dominican Cement Producers Association, Adocem, has appointed Carlos Gonzalez, president of Cemex, as its president for 2013-14.
Gonzalez said that the cement industry has had a highly successful development and has met the country’s goals for progress, thanks to the vision of great local entrepreneurs and foreign investors thanks to whom, through their efforts and commitment to Dominican Republic, the country now has some of the leading cement companies in the region, which locally gives utmost importance to economic growth, job creation and trade balance through their exports to other markets.
Gabriel Ballestas of Cementos Argos (formerly Cemento Colon) has been named treasurer while Jose Caceres of Cementos Cibao will be the association’s new secretary.
