The government has provided some RD$48 million for dozens of women in four different associations to receive training and learn new and improved techniques for making chocolates. The training is expected to create new jobs and improve the quality of the locally made products. The effort is supervised by Swedish chocolate expert Ana Sofia Winroth. This training program is the result of the visits made by President Medina to different women’s groups that are involved in chocolate manufacturing.
