US government FBI agents together with members of the Public Prosecution Service and officials from the Criminal Investigation branch of the National Police have found parts of a man’s body on a farm in Moca.
The authorities believe it is the body of US businessman Brent Lewis who has been missing since 3 November 2014, apparently after selling his hotel, La Perla in Sosua, Puerto Plata province for half a million dollars.
A source confirmed to El Caribe newspaper that Maria Geraldine de la Rosa Bonilla, the administrator of the hotel owned by Lewis, had confessed to the murder committed together with US citizen Frank Sorichetti a.k.a. Frankie Corleone. They have been in custody since January in connection with the case.
Another suspect, also a foreigner, Alex Branislav is also being sought.
The source adds that the body appears to have been dismembered and concealed in several different places. So far only one part has been found.
The remains have now been sent to the Forensic Pathologist in Santiago for autopsy to establish whether it is indeed Brent Lewis.
