National Police Captain Apolinar Santana Rodriguez, who commanded the police anti-narcotics division in San Jose de Ocoa, was shot and killed yesterday, Monday, 27 July 2015.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting; 27-year old Hugo Baez, 35-year old Maikel Baez Pena and a 17-year old minor.
According to a press release the incident took place near the central park when the captain was driving in his car. When Santana stopped another vehicle a heated discussion ensued. Witnesses then heard a series of gunshots, resulting in the death of the Captain Santana.
