On Wednesday, July 29, President Danilo Medina chaired the first meeting of the Presidential Roundtable to Promote Exports. The purpose of the Roundtable is to develop a comprehensive and multi-sectoral strategy to increase exports. In his introductory remarks, President Danilo Medina expressed his support for the export sector and underlined the commitment of his administration to join forces with the private sector to expand foreign markets for Dominican products. He stressed that a strong export sector can accelerate economic and social development for the country.
In the two-hour meeting held at the Presidential Palace, Medina pledged to the businessmen that the government will be a facilitator and partner in an broad effort for Dominican products to reach new markets.
