The Fruit Kraze Company based in Rockland County, New York, will begin to import and distribute agricultural products from the Dominican Republic and other countries as reported in Fresh Plaza.
The company has been supplying dozens of supermarkets in the area of New York and other states, major restaurants, local markets, in the past year.
Fruit Kraze distributes limes and lemons, oranges, vegetables, grapefruits, avocados, chili peppers and grapes, among other products.
The company now plans to import thousands of tons of fresh products from the Dominican Republic to distribute them in the local market through Fruit Kraze. The company is working with authorities to lift the ban maintained by the Department of Agriculture (USDA) on numerous products harvested in the Dominican Republic because of the Mediterranean fruit fly.
Fruit Kraze is interested in importing sour oranges, which are scarce in the United States as well as tayota, malanga coco, avocado, and cassava.
The company also plans to open a packaging facility in Bani and import more mangoes to the United States from the Dominican Republic.
