The Dominican Consulate in New York has had to cease work due to a fire at the Hard Rock Café restaurant, located on the first floor of the building 1501 Broadway with 43rd Street, where the consulate is also located.
The fire caused the downing of the telephone and Internet lines. Work at the New York office of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) that is located at the Consulate as well was affected.
Around 150 people that solicited services that day were turned away.
