
Several people received burns yesterday, Tuesday 9 January 2018, when a gas cylinder exploded on the third floor of a guest house in Moca Street, in the Villas Agricolas sector of the National District.
Preliminary reports said that three people, all Haitian, were injured and taken to the Francisco Gregorio Billini Hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
The explosion happened as they were preparing lunch and the flames spread rapidly. The first floor of the building is home to a colmado and a café and the second and third floors are occupied by dozens of families, mostly of Haitian descent.
