The Audit Chamber (Camara de Cuentas) has once again justified their considerable salary increases, as well as the subsidy for employee meals and the expenses incurred over the Christmas period.
In a document outlining compensation packages, made available to the press, by the Audit Chamber concludes that the application of a salary increase to the members of the Board is not in contradiction with Article 140 of the Constitution, as there was a ruling approved by the previous management.
The document goes on to say that the Audit Chamber has been the victim of a smear campaign, but it would not distract the agency from carrying out its work.
