In an interview with Hoy, heart specialist César Herrera, alerted people to continue hydrating themselves, even when they are not thirsty or sweating. He said the heat causes blood pressure to rise. Herrera heads the team at the Cardiovascular del Centro de Diagnóstico, Medicina Avanzada y Telemedicina (CEDIMAT) in Santo Domingo, the country’s main heart facility.
