The Instituto del Café Santo Domingo (ICSD) is offering since March 2018 barista certifications. Those completing the studies receive a certificate from the “Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). The ICSD offers the Coffee Skills Program for training in all the phases of the barista career.
The program includes introduction to coffee, barista skills, brewing, green coffee, sensory skills and roasting in the foundation, intermediate and professional modules.
The educational institute is located at Calle Francisco Prats Ramírez 251 in Santo Domingo, Tel 809 533-1984. The center has the backing of Café Santo Domingo, the leading Dominican coffee brand.
