Passport Agency rolls out mobile program

The Passport Agency (DGP) announced a new mobile program for the renewal and issuing of Dominican passports. The service is targeted at residents in provinces where there is no passport agency branch.

The first location is in Loma de Cabrera in Dajabon province, where 128 people were given appointments to renew or obtain passports. The second was in Cotui, Sanchez Ramirez province where 381 new passports were issued, 14 due to loss, 360 for the standard timeframe and 22 VIP. In Samana, 342 passports were issued.

Director General of Passports, Ramón “Monchy” Rodríguez, said the local offices make it easier for people to renew or obtain passports without having to go long distances and it will continue to roll out across different provinces in the country.
