
A Samaná court has handed down three months in preventive custody as coercive measure for the former head of the Public Prosecution Service in the area, Robert Justo Bobadilla. Justo Bobadilla is accused of sexual harassment of several employees and users of the service.
The coercive measures were issued following the hearing of evidence from the prosecutors who showed his links with the crimes he was accused of committing. The victims’ identities were withheld.
Justo Bobadilla will serve his sentence in Nagua public jail in María Trinidad Sánchez province. He had been avoiding court appearances and an arrest warrant was issued for him resulting in his arrest on 15 May 2018 in the National District, Santo Domingo. He had already been dismissed and is unable to work in any state institution for five years.
