Three fatalities and 10 injured was the tragic toll of an accident that occurred Wednesday, 25 July 2018 in the morning on the Duarte Highway between a bus carrying employees of the Dominican Aviation Institute and National Assets and a pickup truck loaded with mangoes. The government employees were traveling to Puerto Plata to carry out assessments regarding some government assets. The victims were taken to the morgue at the public hospital in Bonao and the injured were taken to the Juan Bosch Trauma Hospital in La Vega. According to available reports, the pickup truck was traveling in the wrong lane. There were also reports of five road fatalities in the north coast.
