Investigative reporter Alicia Ortega revealed in her El Informe con Alicia Ortega talk show irregularities in the contracting of an expansion of the traffic lights system for the National District and the Santo Domingo Province. Competitors not awarded the contract complain that the Institute for Ground Transport and Traffic (Intrant) customized the tender in order to benefit a particular company. Neither the winners of the contract, nor the Government Procurement Agency, responded to inquiries by Ortega.
