In a new development in the David Ortiz attempted murder case, Alberto Miguel Rodríguez Mota, a fugitive from justice, is identified by the authorities as the person who allegedly would pay for committing the hit-and-run crime. The authorities did not say why or have provided more information on the intellectual authors of the crime. Already more than a dozen persons are under arrest or sought for in this case.
The authorities say their investigations show that Gabriel Alexander Pérez Vizcaíno (Hueso), who surrendered last Friday, 15 June 2019, as part of those implicated in the attack on Ortiz, was used by José Eduardo Ciprian (Chuky) to put the group of hitmen in contact with Alberto Miguel Rodríguez Mota.
National Police Director Ney Aldrin Bautista reported last week that those who attacked Ortiz were offered RD$400,000.
The document from the Public Ministry explains that Rodriguez Mota discussed the plan and details with Ciprian, who at the time was in the Azua 15 Jail.
Major League former baseball player David Ortiz was attacked on Sunday night, 9 at Dial Bar and Lounge in Santo Domingo Este.
