Finegold (D-MA) says Cibao has rich culture

Barry Finegold, the Democratic senator from Massachusetts, USA told reporters that after his travels around the Cibao region in the Dominican Republic, he feels he can now better appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the area. He stressed the variety of activities, such as music, dance, food, sculptures and art in general, and the great hospitality he saw and enjoyed.

He travelled to Santiago, Salcedo, Tenares, San Francisco de Macoris and Moca, where he was able to see for himself how the people live, work and enjoy life. In what has to be a wonderful assessment for Mayor Abel Martinez of Santiago, the senator praised the cleanliness and order of the city, as he praised Martinez’ attempts to revitalize Santiago as a tourist destination.
