NY legislators say DR still major tourist destination

Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Dominican-born Representative Adriano Espaillat (D-NY 13 District) said that the Dominican Republic continues to be a major tourist destination for people from the United States. The pair spoke during a press conference on evaluation of tourism in the Dominican Republic, and joined Asonahores president Paola Rainieri de Diaz on the podium.

Schumer told reporters that as a result there has been an increase in tourism police, and the National Police, together with a major increase in CCTV cameras in tourist hotels and visitation areas.
