Bishops tell JCE that citizens have a right to demand transparency

Bishops Víctor Masalles and Jesús Castro Marte said that the Central Electoral Board (JCE) should accept all demands for transparency. Masalles is the Roman Catholic Bishop for Baní said that everyone has the right to challenge the results of an election. He said the behavior of the numbers of the automated voting system is “strange.”

Likewise, the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo, Jesús Castro Marte, stated that the JCE must accept all the revision demands to guarantee transparency and democracy.
