Judge Chanel Grullón of a Santiago first instruction court has ordered Spaniard Ambiorix Nepomuceno to serve one year of pre-trial custody. He is accused of the death of Dominican lawyer Paola Languasco in 2015. Nepomuceno arrived on 4 November 2019, extradited from Spain. Nepomuceno was sent to a maximum security area in the Rafey Santiago prison, because on other occasions, he has escaped from international correctional centers. Nepomuceno has defended his innocence and says that what happened on the night of Languasco’s death will come to light during the trial.
