Expect dozens of public works dedications to take place in the legal window authorized to do so from 16 February to 16 March 2020.
The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) has complained that the Constitutional, Electoral and Administrative courts have created confusion and uncertainties after knocking several of the JCE initiatives. He also criticized that the Political Parties Law and the Electoral Regime Law that were passed in 2018 and 2019 are full of contradictions and incongruences that have made the organization of the elections more difficult.
Castaños Guzman recently cited the disposition that prohibits the inauguration of public works until after the 16 February elections. But he says it leaves a window of 30 days from 16 February to 16 March for the inaugurals to take place.
Political analyst Nelson Rodríguez forecasts the floodgates will be open for President Danilo Medina to deliver all the projects to capitalize on these as part of the PLD campaign for the 17 May presidential elections.
