Luis Fortuño declines lobbying for Gonzalo Castillo in Washington, D.C.

The former governor of Puerto Rico, Luis Fortuño declined representing Gonzalo Castillo before the US Department of Justice, as reported in Diario Libre. The news of his acceptance of the responsibility as a lobbyist in Washington, D. C. for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) presidential candidate was known last week in the Dominican Republic after the media carried a story that originally appeared in the Foreign Lobby magazine.

Fortuño is a partner of the firm Steptoe & Johnson. As reported in Diario Libre, Steptoe & Johnson, of which Fortuño is a partner, sent a document to the US Department of Justice to inform them that Fortuño would no longer represent Castillo. The news is carried in El Nuevo Dia, the leading Puerto Rico-based newspaper.
