The Dominican Republic is in the path of the now named TD13, the newest storm moving west from Africa to the Dominican Republic.
MikeFisher reports in the 2020 Hurricane Season thread on DR1 Forums that US hurricane hunter planes will be bringing back more data about the storm’s development. The data is needed to confirm the present path and the strength of the storm.
MikeFisher forecasts the storm is unlikely to develop into a hurricane when passing the DR. Yet he writes that it is likely to bring torrential rains and flooding to the northern part of the Dominican Republic. He forecasts that from the data at hand as of the early morning of Thursday, the fast-moving storm will be moving north of the Mona Passage between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico by noon on Saturday, 22 August 2020.
