
The Dominican Republic received two awards during the Uzakrota Travel Awards. The Turkish initiative seeks to recognize and reward excellent in travel and tourism.
The Dominican Republic won in category #44 for World’s Leading Country Tourism Destination. The three winners were 1. Qatar (1030 votes), Dominican Republic (983 votes) and Turkey (778 votes).
The DR also won in category #46 for World’s Leading Country Tourism Board. The winners in this category were Tourism Malaysia (851 votes), Saudi Tourism Authority (684 votes) and Dominican Republic Tourism Board (517 votes.
The 2021 winners were decided by 194,743 votes that were cast in 53 categories. The awards will be presented to the winners at the Uzakrota Awards at the Madame Tussauds Museum in Istanbul, Turkey on the evening of 3 December 2021.
The Uzakrota Travel Awards is a global initiative designed to recognise and reward excellence in travel and tourism with over 1,000 travel destinations, hotels, airlines, tour operators, online travel platforms and other types of tourist taking part.
