DR featured first in new series of UNWTO tourism investment guides

UNWTO has launched the first in a series of tourism investment guidelines focused on a specific country. The guide is a collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and ProDominicana. It was launched at the Fitur travel and trade show in Madrid, Spain where the Dominican Republic starred as country partner.

The Dominican Republic investment guide is promoted as a comprehensive tool for parties interested in FDI opportunities. The guide showcases the potential of closer public-private collaboration and makes clear the importance of directing investments towards building new tourism business models that center on innovation and sustainability. In particular, it aims to attract and promote and retain investment in sustainable tourism initiatives in the Dominican Republic, including those that provide local jobs and build greater resilience across the sector.

As the UNWTO guide notes, the Dominican Republic represents one of the most competitive opportunities for investors for several reasons: excellent geographic location, solid legal framework, economic stability, and modern infrastructure.
