President Luis Abinader chose to visit Duarte province on occasion of the celebration of the 209th birthday of the Dominican forefather, Juan Pablo Duarte on 26 January 2022. Abinader will join Duarte province governor Xiomara Cortes and Mayor Siquió Ng de la Rosa to watch the military-civic parade in honor of Duarte parade in front of the city hall in San Francisco de Macoris, the capital city of the province. Next he will supervise the asphalting of city streets by the Ministry of Public Works. He will also be present for the inauguration of the San Francisco-Cruce de Controba road section and will hold a lunch with businessmen and merchants at the premises of the Wholesalers Association.
President Abinader will inaugurate the new Regional Hospital in San Francisco de Macorís. He will participate in the kickstarting of the city redevelopment plan.
He will also participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the first solid waste recycling plant of the Viamar and Rizek groups, in the Hatillo sector, on the road leading to Villa Tapia.
In Santo Domingo, the Duarte Institute program of activities includes a 7:30pm concert by the Juan Pablo Duarte Symphony Orchestra of the National Music Conservatory in Duarte Park of the Colonial City. On the repertoire for the evening are: Caña Brava, Compadre Pedro Juan, Los Algodones, Liborio, San Antonio, La Bilirrubina and Amapola.
