La Romana city in the southeast was the beneficiary of the United States National Basketball Association (NBA) donation used for the modernizing of the city’s Club Quisqueya court and facilities. The NBA Cares initiative allocated funds for refurbishing basketball courts in Argentina, Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Mexico through the remainder of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Season in 2021-22.
The refurbishments in the region are part of the leaguewide NBA 75th Live, Learn or Play initiative to create and dedicate more than 50 new NBA Cares Live, Learn or Play Centers during the 2021-22 season.
