Port Authority director says DR will be a cruise and logistics destination

Jean Luis Rodríguez, the executive director of the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) is bullish on advances to make the Dominican Republic the Logistics Hub for Latin America and Cruiseship Hub for the Caribbean. He recently announced that the government is working on the Cabo Rojo cruise ship terminal in Pedernales in the southwest, and the Samaná City terminal whose construction starts 21 July 2022.

This will bring the number of cruise ship terminals in the Dominican Republic to six by 2025.

These are:
Amber Cove. Puerto Plata. In operation.
Taino Bay. Puerto Plata. In operation.
Casa de Campo. La Romana. In operation.
Sans Souci. Santo Domingo. In operation.
Samana City/ Arroyo Barril. Samana. Construction to start July 2022.
Cabo Rojo. Pedernales. Allocated to ITM Group.
