Rafael Stefano Cano Sacco: From fugitive of justice to key witness

It is now known that Rafael Stefano Canó Sacco, who was the right hand and chief of cabinet when Jean Alain Rodríguez was Attorney General, is the star witness in the Medusa case. The case is investigating leads that the former attorney general would have fostered criminal activities and profiteering when he head the Attorney General Office. Canó Sacco is a high school classmate of Rodriguez.

Diario Libre reports that Canó Sacco is collaborating with the prosecutors in a deal that leaves him out of the accusatory file. The file says that Canó Sacco had direct influence on deciding the beneficiaries of the Attorney General Office procurement.

At the change of government, Canó Sacco traveled to Spain, and was not arrested when Jean Alain Rodriguez and several higher-up officials at the Attorney General were accused in court and sent to preventive custody at the Najayo Jail.
