
The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) says the Dominican Republic has added 62 new aviation frequencies in the past two years. Several of these were to Russia and Ukraine, that have now been discontinued, but more are to the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe.
According to the JAC’s statistical report, 452 airlines have operated in the country in the modality of charter flights from 1 January 2021 to date, while during 2019, the year before the pandemic, only 216 airlines operated charter flights here.
The routes connect the Dominican airports in Punta Cana, La Romana, Santiago, Samana, Santo Domingo , Puerto Plata with more than 33 destinations around the world.
