The Punta Cana Carnival this 2023 will be held on the first Sunday in February 2023, 4 February. In the Dominican Republic, Sundays in February are carnival time. The Punta Cana Carnival takes place event along the Boulevard Primero de Noviembre, the main street in the Punta Cana Village.
For 15 years, the Punta Cana Carnival organizers had waited for the carnivals all around the country to conclude through the first week of March (including the Santo Domingo Carnival), to then bring the best of carnival to Punta Cana. This year, the Punta Cana Group is again inviting the best Carnival groups of the country to the Punta Cana activity but is staging the event to be first, instead of last. The Punta Cana Carnival in 2023 opens the carnival season nationwide.
The Punta Cana organizers motivate local residents that engage is elaborate costumes and dance troupe preparations to parade down the Boulevard Primero de Noviembre, the main street in Punta Cana Village. Around 1,500 costumed carnival characters will be part of the parade, including Punta Cana’s own “Musas de Punta Cana,” a troupe of leading ladies of the Punta Cana society and the troupe of the Puntacana International School.
The community of Puntacana Carnival looks forward to the carnival merry-making that brings families, tourists and friends together for the February entertainment event.
The Santo Domingo Carnival will then be the last to close the carnival activities, when it is expected to take place as in past years the first week of March.
