Somos Pueblo shared the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic (ACRD) report on the damages caused by the border fence under construction by Dominican Army contractors in Montecristi province. The organization highlighted the serious damages caused by the construction that affected wetlands and mangroves in the Saladillo Lagoon area.
The ACRD criticized that the fence going up on the border with Haiti is being built without regard to environmental regulations. Montecristi province has some of the most important wetlands in the country.
