There was lukewarm adherence to the call to strike in central Cibao provinces. Strike organizers had called for a one day strike in 14 Cibao provinces. Listin Diario reports Puerto Plata ignored the call for the most part. El Dia reports the strike was felt in Navarette and San Francisco de Macorís, where one person was injured. In Santiago city, the historic center closed.
The Presidency reports that most of the businesses ignored the strike and opened for business as usual.
El Dia reports that the Dominican Association of Public School Teachers chose to strike and public school teachers did not go to school.
