
A series of earthquakes have been felt recently in the Dominican Republic. The latest was a USGS-reported 4.4 magnitude quake at 8:56pm on the evening of Monday, 22 May 2022. The quake’s center was 4km from Villa Riva in northeastern Duarte province.
Local authorities reported that the earthquake occurred 7 km from Arenoso in Duarte province, with a depth of 13 km and magnitude at 4.9. The 4.9 magnitude is more likely because the quake was felt south in Greater Santo Domingo.
There were no reports of damages.
