
Former Minister of Economy of the Dominican Republic, Juan Ariel Jimenez will be teaching at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is also the vice president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), the former long-time ruling political party in the Dominican Republic. Jimenez says he will continue in his role in the Dominican Republic as he carries out his new obligations as a professor at the Harvard Kennedy School. He did not detail the courses he will be teaching. Jimenez studied at the Harvard Kennedy School. From 2010 to 2011 he worked as a research associate and project manager at the Center for International Development at the same university.
Harvard Kennedy School is a preferred university for preparing for government. The school offers master’s degrees in public policy, public administration, international development, four doctoral degrees, and many executive education programs. It conducts research in subjects relating to politics, government, international affairs, and economics.
According to Wikipedia, Harvard Kennedy School alums include 18 heads of state or government, the most of any graduate institution in the world. Alums also include cabinet officials, military leaders, heads of central banks, and legislators. In independent rankings, Harvard Kennedy School consistently ranks at the top of the world’s graduate schools in public policy, social policy, international affairs, and government.
