
The National Police announced the dismantling of what they describe as a dangerous Dominican-Haitian criminal gang. The gang is attributed the quadruple homicide in La Gorra, Aminilla area of the province of Dajabon on Monday, 4 September 2023. A fifth person survived.
The deceased were 60 year old Ramón Eugenio Medina (Papito), his wife 49-year old Carmelina Antonia Cabreja Ramos, and their son 19-year old Daniel Medina Cabreja. A fourth unidentified person was also killed and Cristian López, 26, who was visiting the house, was wounded yet survived.
As reported by the Police, three gang members were killed during confrontations with police officers and four others are under arrest. The police said three firearms, a vehicle, a motorcycle and other items were seized as prosecutors, members of the Ministry of Defense investigate the case.
The Police announced the arrest of 38-year old David Cruz Jiménez (David Colón), identified as the ringleader of the gang, and his partners in crime, Haitians 30-year old Watson Delicier, and 23-year old Maken Pie, killed during separate confrontations with police officers. Other Haitians under arrest for investigation are 30 year old Frandy Lumenes and 38-year old Maxos Olus.
Also under arrest is 24-year old Adonis José Morillo, said to be in charge of locating the properties, businesses and farms to rob and the driver of the vehicle in which the murderers arrived to the scene of the crime, and 53-year old Pacheco Beltrán, who is said to have been the person who fired the shots against the victims.
