Young people are 27% of eligible voters

As was the situation in the 2020 election, the vote of young people will decide the upcoming municipal, congressional and presidential elections in 2024.

The Central Electoral Board (JCE) says that recent stats indicate 2,210,823 eligible voters are ages 18 to 30, or 27% of those eligible to vote. The estimated eligible vote roll is at 8,111,654, about half a million more than in 2020.

The JCE says 1,311,679 eligible voters are 18 to 25 (16%) and 899,144 are 25 to 30 (11%).
